Smartbaits claims another big win!

The Bass Pro Shops series, held its championship event for 2014, on Balsam Lake which is located a just over 1 hour north east of Toronto, Ontario.

Smartbaits, had only one representative competing in this event, and by the time the event was over, every other competitor was wishing they had what Victor Capobianco had lined up on his rods.

Vic, and his partner Joe Matiz, had a great season in the Bass Pro Shops Series in 2014, and they saw themselves entering this final event tied in first place for Team of the year and earning cheques in 3 of 4 events already. So this was an extra special win because the team claimed both Team of the year and classic champions all in one day.

Vic said, "I was not sure what to expect going into this championship, as I have always struggled with Balsam".

At blast off, Vic drove to his first spot and that's all it took.

Vic said, "We were fishing a spot of rock and weed in 6 to 10 feet of water, and after the first few minutes we had our first fish."

Vic started the day using the Smartbaits Smartbomb in the color junebug/smoke. Within a few minutes after the first one they had yet another. Before 9am they had caught all the fish they needed to claim the win, and it was a good thing the Smartbomb produced like it did early, because the weather turned bad and they did not catch any more big fish for the remainder of the day.

The Bass Pro Shops Series, is made up of pro anglers that are paired up with 1 employee from Bass Pro Shops for the year to fish with.
